It feels a little strange writing a "December" wrap up half way through January but hey, I may or may not have been lagging a little in getting my blog posts finished lately, so here we are. š
Ā
When many of us think about setting and achieving our goals, we often tend to look at the bigger picture and associate that with hitting massive milestones while neglecting to celebrate our smaller wins along the way.
It's all well and good to have a larger goal in mind however, it's important to remember that many of our larger goals, in reality, are made up of many smaller goals.
For example, losing 5kg might be your end goal, but in order to get to that point, you're going to need to set smaller, more achievable goals along the way.
Think of it kind of like a jigsaw puzzle, made up of individual pieces - if you want to see the final picture, youāre going to need to fit each piece together first.
That said, if your end goal is losing 5kg, you might start by setting yourself a goal of hitting the gym for an hour every morning, setting another goal of hitting 10,000 steps per day and eliminating processed foods from your diet for a period of 2-3 months.Ā
If you can celebrate yourself for each day that you cross each of those goals off your list for the time period that you set for yourself, you're more likely to keep yourself motivated to reach that end goal than you would be if you were only focused on the end goal itself.
For that reason, I wanted to highlight some of the steps that I took during the month of December toward my end goal of becoming a holistic, healthy, homesteader!
